  • Treasure's Report: Presented by Mr. Larry Jeager, bills paid and funds brought in.

  • Secretaries report: sporter rifle and bull's-eye pistol are still ongoing.

  • Update: 19-year-old who was thought to have been killed by a black bear in the Adirondacks was actually killed by falling and hitting his head when running away from a bear.

  • October 1st, 2012 – archery

  • October, 2012 – Bobcat season will open for both trapping and hunting.

  • Antler restriction – in seven locations in New York State.  Call your DEC to express your feelings against this.

  • Columbus Day 2012 – youth hunt weekend now on hold.

  • Resolution 2900 house rule FFL registration 822 past house on its way to the Senate, all club members needed to send letters to Mr. Mcgree or to give him a call.

  • Federation – Mr. Jim Mayne, no information this month.

  • Counsel – up-and-coming gun bills – members need to be on top of it and make phone calls or write.

  • Hunter safety course – done for this year.

  • Appleseed – done for this year.

  • Friends of the NRA grant – awaiting further follow-up.  Funds to be used for a new training\shooting\picnic pavilion.

  • Boy Scouts, Troop nine – everything is going well.

  • Survey on hunting – Mr. Lash Camenga, outdoor newsmagazines results of the survey found 94% of the public agreed on hunting deer.

  • Raffle results: first place – 12gauge shotgun, Mr. Mark Jones, second place – binoculars, Mr. Mark Green, third-place – propane lantern, Mr. John Armstrong, fourth-place, $20 Mr. John Haws, fifth-place – $20, Mr. Jason Harrison, sixth place – $10 Mr. Ken Hull, seventh place – $10 Mr. Don Bradbury, eighth place – $10, Mrs. Colette Dunham, ninth place 5 dollars, Mr. Robert Borman, 11th Place– knife, Mrs. Fran Norton, 12th place– knife, Ms. Jean Rilley.

  • Treasure's Report: Presented by Mr. Larry Jeager, with payments to REA, NRA, ILA, school taxes partial, loan repayment to Mr. Fred Emhof, Mohawk, Copycats Inc.  income – hog roast, membership, range fees, pistol fees, and sport rifle.

  • Appleseed – done for the year.

  • Bull's-eye pistol and sport rifle have started.

  • Tax bill needs to be paid.

  • Hunters challenge – this new event turned out to be a great success.  A thank you is expressed to Mr. Eric Meyer.

  • Federation – Mr. Jim Mayne, new breed of wolves in New York State. Swine pigs found in southern Chenango County appear to be headed this way. Five fish limit for Herring on Hudson. Flood conditions have hammered the trout population. Goodyear boat launch closed. Arnold Lake – sampled and surveyed, good for bullhead fishing and perch, may be used for youth icefishing.

  • Crossbow legalized. Next Federation meeting in Richfield Springs.

  • bobcat trapping for 4f next year may be possible.

  • Hunter safety course – Richfield Springs, 10 openings \ Hartwick, 2 openings.

  • Hunters challenge – over 20+ targets sold. Both young and older shooters had a great time,  vowing to return again next year.

  • All indoor shooters are reminded that only non-jacketed ammo is to be shot on our indoor range. As some individuals have been using the incorrect ammo, resulting in damage to our backstop. Please make sure you are using the proper ammo when shooting on our indoor range. Thank you.

  • Discussion – to put in more video cameras. From this point on closer attention will be paid to the videos produced by our cameras.

  • HOG ROAST / HUNTERS CHALLENGE (Shoot)- October 2 nd, Help Needed.  Advertising is in NB GAZATTE. Cost of Hog Roast $8 adults and kids under 12 $5.  Need members to make BROWNIES for the roast.  Hunters Challenge will cost $5 per target / with 3 shots per target.  Display Tables, at the Hog Roast for F-Class, High Power, Bullseye Pistol, Sporter Rifle and Jr. Rifle.  Paper products are taken care of.  Double sided banner made and placed near church in the Flats.  RAFFLE TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

  • Thank you! To all who helped to remove the tree debris caused by the twister.

  • Donations sent to NRA Banquet, and other organizations.

  • Sporter Rifle has started.

  • Bullseye Pistol starts on first Friday in Oct. 

  • Tax Exemption paperwork - cost $400 - Decided not worth it.

  • Mr. Christopher Trong would like to use club house on Sept. 25 th for a family get together (10am-5pm)- (Member / Stated - OK)

  • Boy Scout - Troop 9, Scouts had a great time shooting off rockets.

  • BEAVER - Members, please help to break the dam every time it gets to high.  The water has been running over the road way. (Thanks to those who will help).

  • Mr. Richard Krahnert - Said he would drop the pine trees near the club house. He just needs some help from club members.

  • Club is looking for a donation of a REFRIGERATOR. 

  • Two Grants - A Range Grant has been submitted, to build a SHOOTING / PICNIC PAVILION.  A General Grant has been submitted to help with the ever growing costs of running our youth education program (JUNIOR RIFLE PROGRAM - 50 young adults)

  • SAFETY - Impact Area Danger Signs have been posted on our 300 yard range.

  • Discussion: The idea of extending our 300 yard range out to 400 yards, with the sale of the trees to raise money for needed club repairs.  We hope to increase the club insulation, to help with ever growing heating costs.

  • State still holding vast amount of money in the Pittman Robertson Fund.

  • New club lawn mower working well. (Thanks to those who have been giving there time and gas to cut the lawns) & (Mr. Fred Emhof for winter storage of the club mower).

  • Last Junior Rifle Shoot - Aug. 30th (New Shooters are welcome, come join the fun.

  • Friends of the NRA Banquet - September 17th, Holiday Inn - Oneonta (Tickets need to be purchased by Sept. 6th. ($50 Donation to be made to Friends of the NRA

  • Harts Hill - NRA Banquet- $50 Donation made.

  • Bow Class- Sept 26th 6-9, 28th 6-9 and Oct. 1st 9-1 Contact Lash Camenga or Larry Jeager.

  • Fish to stock the pond - no purchase this year.

  • Raffle - October, Prizes 1st Mossburg model 535 (Tactical Turkey), 2nd Binoculars, 3rd Propane Lantern, Cash prizes $20, $10, $5

  • Heating oil purchase - Non-profit organization price $3.19 per gal. Budget plan $200 per month (about 700 gal. per year)

  • Pine Trees at club house - Considered Dangerous - Vote taken to cut them down and mill them into lumber for future club improvements.

  • Hunters Challenge - Club Shoot on October 2nd, time 9am till done (Targets Deer and Bear at 300 yards) Cost $5 per vitals target (three shoots per target) Hunters equipment only, supply your own ammo, any position, non-competitive contest / no prizes.  Have you ever wanted to try and shoot a deer or bear at 300 yards.  Well here is your chance, come join us for the fun.  See what it is like and join us for our F-class shooting.  Pre- sight in shots on 50 yard range then final sight in on 300 yard range before deer or bear target shoot. Instructors will be available.  First timer or experienced - no pressure shoot (COME JOIN US FOR THE FUN).

  • GRANTS: Friends of the NRA range grant done - need just two more support letters.  Hope to write a second grant for targets, ammo ect. for the Junior Rifle Program.  Third grant to be written in fall for Fish and Wildlife - Sporter Education Grant.

  • Trap electrical wire needs to be buried / 50 yard range needs to be york raked to remove the stones.

  • Score House - move from 300 yard range to club house and alter to hold lawn mower.

  • To the person who took 500 of the Junior Rifle Teams Targets - What can we say?  Think of the kids you have hurt.

  • Security Cameras are now up and running with more to be added to the near future. Surveillance Camera Stickers will be posted.

  • File Cabinet - Glen Kohler will donate a file cabinet to build folders of club information and activities. No reason to always re-invent the wheel.

  • Federation Report - Mr. Jim Mayne, kids for camp program might have future problems. Antler Restriction now on hold.  IMPORTANT: Federal Government is holding 570 million in Pittman Robertson Funds.  Everyone needs to write our gov. officials not to put this in to the general fund but to spend it where it was collected to go.  The state is also holding 38 million of Dingo Johnson fishing funds.  So write you state officials.

  • Note: Richfield Springs fish and game club is holding a Trapper Course on Sept. 9th and 10th.

  • Note: Fish Release - Canadurago Lake on August 23rd.

  • Federation- Fair Raffle raised $3002.57

  • Parker Nash- Sponcered by the club to go to Camp Kolby.  Parker showed his thanks in a speech in which he said that he had a BLAST.  He said he learned a great deal about conservation and loved the out door trips.  He showed his excitement as he thanked the club for ability to go.

  • Appleseed Shoots- Mr. Steve Stoner, Two shoots left for the year - September 27th and 28th and October 8th and 9th.  Instructors Camp up in the air at this time.  Club decides to charge a small $5 per day fee for range and facilities use.

  • Skeet Range - on an increase in use.  Question raised as to are people paying for the clay birds.

  • Boy Scouts - Scouts did a fantastic job painting the flag pole and staining the flower bed.  Again on behalf of the club - Thanks!

  • Federation- By Dennis for Jim - Morris Fair Tickets received for August 4th Fair.

  • Junior Rifle- Reminder that Jr. Rifle Games will be held on Sat, August 20th

  • High Power (Service Rifle) Going along well.

  • F-Class - Mondays between 4pm and sundown on back Known Distance Range. 14 or more regulars showing and a large number of new people showing up to try it out.  Monday July 25th meeting will discuss a LONG DISTANCE HUNTERS MATCH to be held on August 21st. with reduced to 1000 yards targets / 3 shots in 3 min. with no sighters.  Details to be discussed.  Move scoring shed to club house for storage.

  • Boy Scouts (Troop 9) - doing well.

  • Hog Roast- Reminder will be held on first Sunday in October.

  • On going discussion of how to up grading the clubs ventilation system.

  • F class – still ongoing till end of month.

  • High-power – still ongoing till end of month.

  • Junior rifle – report given by Collete Dunham.

  • Directors meeting – held on June 5, discussion to allow electric across property for neighbor.  Discussion to build storage area for new club lawn mower.  Possible movement of scoring house from 300 yard range for mower storage.

  • Family membership discussed.

  • F class donated $250 towards new lawnmower.  New Ferris lawnmower with a 60 inch cut and zero turn radius cost $4600 plus tax from Vertuzzi's.

  • Reform Act of 2011 – from Schumer stating he is monitoring it.

  • State bill – Senate to lower the age from 12 to 10 and 21 to 18 two chaperone young shooters.

  • Federation – Jim Mayne, no report this month.

  • Fish and Wildlife Service – no report this month.

  • Hunters\trappers\Bow hunters – Hunters refresher course scheduled for the 30th of this month.

  • Crossbows – instructors need to introduce this new hunting information into their courses.

  • Appleseed – weekend of six through eighth/ Saturday and Sunday.

  • Garbage removal – all members are asked to help take garbage away from the club after they hold different activities.

  • Paper products – all club members using paper products at the club for activities are asked to replace them.

  • Statement: Junior Rifle- Going well with about 50 young adults taking part.  F-Class meeting every Monday 4pm till sun set on back range.  About 28 shooters taking part.  New shooters always welcome.  High Power in full swing on Wednesday 5pm till done shooting.  New shooters welcome.

  • IMPORTANT:  NOTICE TO ALL - Recently some one shoot on the indoor range with improper ammo and damaged the bullet backstop.  The security tapes will be reviewed and the person responsible will be notified.  The backstop will be repaired in the near future.  Please be aware ONLY NONE JACKETED AMMO SHOULD BE USED ON OUR INDOOR RANGE.

  • Mr. Steve Stoner - Appleseed Program,  Running well.  Week long Boot Camp and weekend Appleseed shoot was a great success.  With people from four states and Canada taking part.  The next Appleseed shoot will be on June 18th and 19th.

  • Lawn Mower:  The club lawn mower has died and needs to be replaced.  If anyone has a ride-on mower in good shape they would like to donate to the club please contact our club president Mr. Denis Mayne at 607-965-8096.

  • 50/50 Raffle drawing held.  The winner was Ms. Michele Schoellig who received a total $810.  The club would like to thank all of our supporters who bought tickets.  The club will use it's portion toward a new club lawn mower.

  • Spring Fling was a huge sucess - 200 Chicken halves and 175 lb. Pig sold.  Pie as desert was greeted with great enthusiasm.  Take Out containers depleated and need to be restocked.  Club thanks Mr. Glenn Kohler for all his hard work to make the Spring Fling such a success.

  • Appleseed:  Next - May 8th-13th with Appleseed Shoot May 14 & 15.

  • Pistol League: Done for now restarts the 1st Friday in October.

  • 50/50 Raffle Tickets- Still available, drawing on May 19th, 2010.  Money for mower / improvements.

  • Club ordered Mallard Ducks.  Murganzers (white ducks) tagged and a bunch released on Delaware River - found in Rome, Albany and Lake Huron two days later.

  • Hunter Safety- April Course had 29 kids pass.  New Slot created for Jr. Hunter Safety instructors age 16 and older.

  • Dollars for Scholars - Clinton Tractor donating a Ferris mower, club bought 5 tickets ($20)

  • Thank you card sent to SECO Tom Harrington for money donated to the club.  It was used to purchase two large coffee pots.

  • Federation: Mr. Jim Mayne - No carrying bait fish from 1 tributary to another.  Pole running to see if they can get this to go thru, Hudson St. Lawrence, Lake Ontario, Lake Niagra and Samon River.  No Marine license needed (for salt water Hudson and Delaware River.

  • Fishing rights in Hartwick (access for fishing and kyak), were oaks creek dumps into Susquehanna. 

  • Ice Fishing: 1021 lake trout caught and released, while 335 reported kept.

  • Flats has to take care of booth on Thursday.

  • Wharton Creek stocked by four scouts.  Basswood for the 26th of April.

  • Hunter Safety Instructor Refresher at Crumb Horn.

  • 30 DEC  Officers taking early retirement,  gov. will not be replacing these positions.

  • Delaware County, some groups trying to form groups for Antler restrictions.

  • Mr. Harold Palmer elected in to the Sportsman Hall of Fame.

  • Regional meeting next Wed. and State Board meeting on the 29th of April.

  • Members should watch out for restrictions on mags. in the near future.

  • Proposals on the table: Spousal fishing license, Spring Turkey HUNTING HOURS TO BE EXTENDED to 5 or 6 hours, cross bow - open this fall.

  • Food banks in Schoharie County received 36 deer.

  • Junior Rifle: 39 registered - others still to register.  Max number 50.

  • Eagles: 220 pairs in New York State- one pair nesting in Hancock visible from road Delanson.

  • High Power: Starts first Wed. in May - Work night wed. April 27th at 5 pm.

  • F-Class: Starts first Mon. in May - Work night wed. April 27th at 5 pm.

  • Trap / Skeet to start again soon.

  • Mr. Jim Giradano donated four collectors knives to the Cpl. Michael Mayne Annual Turkey Hunt.

  • Boy Scouts: Eagle Banquet now set for mothers day.  Spring Scout camporee coming up soon.

  • 13 Club Members took the NRA Rifle Instructors Course and the Range Safety Officer Course to improve club shooting and safety.

  • Youth Turkey Hunt Sat/Sun with Raffle Sunday - drawing at 1:30pm. Over 65 prizes.

  • Suggestion: to hang trauma kit in club house and one to go out to the shooting line at the events.

  • Suggestion: Emergancy 911#, address and information to be posted.

  • Suggestion: Incident Report Sheet - print copies and place in club house.

  • Suggestion: Make a Range Source Book for club house.

  • Suggestion: Purchase an Electronic Mega Phone.

  • Suggestion: Range Safety Officers Sign in Sheet at club house.

  • Suggestion: Purchase edge of backstop flags.

  • Suggestion: Post spectator areas at trap and skeet areas.

  • Suggestion: Should have a emergency practice exercise.

  • Gun Racks for trap and skeet shooting areas, to be built.

  • Signs to be made - Bring it in you take it out.  Shoot at targets only not the target frames.

  • Mr. Pat Thompson thanked by club for beefing up the club electric in the kitchen.

  • 40 million in life time license funds, ear marked for short term sports stuff

  • Spring Fling: March 26th / 12 noon till gone.  This year 200 chicken and a pig (pork), (Thanks Dave).  For a change desert will be homemade pie. Chicken flippers needed.  Youth introduction to shooting techniques and safety will be provide by Mr. Dave M. with pellet guns in the indoor range. (Thanks Dave)

  • Presentation by NRA Instructor Training Councilor - Mr. Tom DeBrita,  he is offering two courses. The two courses are the Rifle Instructor and Range Safety Officer.  Dates: Rifle Instructor - April 2nd and 3rd / May 21st and 22nd   Range Safety Officer - April 10th the times on all of these days will be 8am to 5pm.  Total cost: $180 money must be sent in with the application & test no later than March 10th.  Contact Mr. Glen Kohler ASAP to reserve a spot in these courses (he has the applications and tests.

  • Treasure's Report: Presented by Mr. Larry Jeager

  • Note: 4 weeks of Sporter Rifle left.

  • Note: 6 to 7 weeks of Bullseye Pistol left.

  • Spaghetti Dinner Sunday Feb. 21st.

  • Spring Fling: KNK will sell chicken @ cost. On March 26th, 2011.

  • Lawn mower: A number of mowers and prices have been investigated.  We need to figure out what to purchase before spring.  If anyone has any ideas please contact Mr. Dennis Mayne.  Issue to be revisited next month.

  • 50/50 Raffle to raise money for the lawn mower.  Winner receives 50% of what is sold with a maximum payout of $1,500.  Cost per ticket will be $5.

  • Spring Raffle: Will be discussed next month.

  • Federation: Mr. Jim Mayne - meeting last night.  Dec has funds to donate.  Needs more help at fair. State could bring guy in on antler restriction.

  • Youth Turkey Hunt: Article will be in the "National Wildlife Turkey Magazine."

  • Club welcomes a new DEC Commissioner, Mr. Joe Martins.

  • Junior Rifle: Mrs. Colette Dunham.- Junior Rifle will start on April 26th with parent meeting on April 19th. Instructors Mr. Stoner and Mr. Joyce.  This year help from some parents will be needed. If you would like to help out contact Mrs. Colette Dunham.

  • Appleseed Program: Mr. Steve Stoner, 2011s first Appleseed will be on March 12th and 13th.  RBC(week) April 8-15. For the full schedule please look at the notice section of the clubs home page.

  • Boy Scouts: Troop 9- Camping on the club property and using the club house on March 4th and 5th.

  • Issue of voting procedures for annual elections presented by Mr. Eric Meyer.  After a discussion it was decided to have the Club committee discus the issue.  The results will be presented at the March meeting.

  • Spring Club Clean Up Day: Date to be picked and list of things to be done will be made.

  • 2010 Fiscal Year Treasure's Report: Presented by Mr. Larry Jeager - Total Income: $14,447.00 / Total Expenses: $13,093.00  = $1,352  

  • 2010 Student Sponsered for camp was Jordan Johnson.

  • 2011 List of approved events: Spaghetti Dinner, Spring and Fall Raffles, NYS DEC, Gun, Bow and Trap, and Hog Roast.

  • Troop 9 (Edmeston) Boy Scouts

  • Shooting - Spring Fling, F-Class, High Power, Jr. Rifle, Appleseed Program, Sporter Rifle(Th) and Bullseye Pistol(Fri).

  • 40 Ring neck phesants and 20 mallards released into wild by the club.

  • Temporary metal roof put on Trap House till new one can be built.

  • Work started on upgrading clubs ventilation system

  • Clubhouse repainted inside 

  • Improvements done on high power range.

  • Henery Jeager - one of our clubs founding fathers died on December 20th, 2010.  His family expressed their thanks for the donations and everything that our members did.  It was expressed to his family, by all the club members, that Henery will be truly missed.  Glen Kokler proposed to acknowledge Henery with some form of memorial. It was seconded and accepted by all.

  • F-Class/High Power - Fred Emhof turned in $1,485.38 in funds.  This was voted on to be earmarked for the purchase of a new club lawn mower.  Support by Iver Eberson is greatly appreciated.   Special note: Thanks to Dave K. and Steve S. for all their time and effort keeping the club grounds cut.

  • Club has shown a major increase in membership (over 150 families) this year.

  • Club slowly upgrading and improving.

  • 2011 Plans Projects - Need camper to sponser (age 12-17) for ABC Conservation Camp, Raffles Spring/Fall, Hog Roast, Spring Fling, Spaghetti Dinner, Hunter Safety

  • Ring Neck Pheasant Program- Tabled until next meeting

  • Appleseed Program - Doing well / growing, list of dates on clubs home page

  • Friends of NRA Banquet?

  • Federation: Wed. January 19th, next meeting.  Need youth for camp.  Fishing Derby in Spring at Neawah Park.

  • Federal Fish n Wildlife: State laid off 164 people, not to be replaced until Gov. decides

  • Bills to watch for in near future, Clips Bill and 50 Cal. Bill.  Please send letters to fight these bills.

  • Beaver Control Cable Law, watch for this we need it.

  • Hunter Safety: 4 to be held in Hartwick (2 trap, 2 gun and one Bow) / Next in March - look at club calendar.

  • Lash (Skip) Thanked for 10 years of service as a bow hunter trainer.

  • Interest shown in setting up a 3D Bow Target Range

  • Interest shown in an all female Appleseed with female instructors.  Watch Appleseed dates on home page and club calendar.  Burlington Flats Fish and Game - 2nd in state for Appleseed program.  Mr. Mark Ansbacker, New York Appleseed Administrator presented two awards one to the club and a second recognizing Mr. Dave Kucera for his major support of the Appleseed Program at Burlington Flats Fish and Game Club.

  • F-Class Report: Fred Emhof, all funds collected on behalf of the F-class and High Power Shoots was turned over to the club treasurer.  The amount a total of $1,485.38.  We hope to add a few more benches on the 300 yard range this year.  F-Class starts May 1st this year and High Power on May 2nd.  Come join us, we are always happy to have new shooters join us (both men and women).  We might hold a couple of all day Saturday F-class / High Power Shoots.

  • The Canastota Conservation Club, invited a number of our F-class and High Power Shooters up to try out their 600 yard range.  Fun was had by all!  A special thanks to Mr. Del Mazza (range officer at Canastota).

  • Skeet and Trap turned in $70 to the club treasurer.

  • Possible NRA Range Instructors Course if enough people show interest (Contact Mr. Glen Kohler).  Cost about $50 + book.

  • Boy Scouts: The Club wishes to congratulate Scout Mark Johnson for earning his Eagle Scout. Note: Nation Wide only one out off every 200 scouts ever makes it to Eagle Scout.  Again congratulations Mark.  To be awarded at the Burlington Flats Baptist Church call scout master for date and time.

  • Web Site: Mr. Eric Meyer, Clubs site is showing about 1,100 visits a month and club membership has gone up since the start of the site.  If you are a member and would like a club E-mail address please E-mail Eric at emeyer@bffgc.com.

  • National Wildlife Turkey Federation impressed with our clubs web site.

  • Payed up member member list will be updated and posted in the club house in the near future.

  • At next club meeting issue of corporate club sponsership will be discussed.

  • NYS Conservation Council - Grass roots report ("The Bullett") available to read - see Larry Jeager.  Contains an article from our Sen. & Assemblymen down state shows they are anti gun.  Reminder to contact by phone and mail to help stop these bills.

  • HOG ROAST - October 3rd (Sunday) noon till gone.  Need someone to donate brownies and salt potatoes.  Anyone interested in helping out should contact Larry Jeager.  Will set up AR-15 (22cal.) for people/kids to shoot.  Discussed charging $1 for 10 shots to recoup cost of ammo.

  • Skoot N Shoot - Sucess!

  • Lawn Mower Problems - Our 11 year old mower is on it's way out.  We need to think about getting a new one in the spring.  Some members will try to get a donation mower.

  • Discuss: Snail air barrier system.

  • Indoor Range: Ventilation System Upgrade - Glen, Pat & Eric will work on it in the near future.  

  • Troop 9: Has a Scout looking for an Eagle Scout Project.

  • Appleseed: Steve Stoner, Sept. 17th & 18th SOLD OUT, 31 shooters online.  Last Appleseed at BFFGC of the year.  Six Appleseed Shoots schedualed for next year.

  • F-Class: Eric Meyer, Has gone well all season with a good turn out.  We will have our last shoot on Monday, Sept. 27th.

                              END OF YEAR GAMES   - August 29th, 10 am - until complete at the clubs outdoor range.

  • Hunter Safety - by Mr. Dave Kucera, 16 students took the course and all passed.  A new hunter safety instructor has come back.

  • Traper Tranning Course - October 2 nd. or 9th. Instructor - Mr. Nick Stage

  • Bow Course - 23 rd. 6-9 pm, 25 th. 6-9 pm, and 28 th. 9 am-12 noon.

  • Bow Target Material, Unadilla - Large Styrofoam 4x4x8 block and 4x4x12 block.  We will try to aquire some.

  • F-Class Shooting - Every Monday afternoon at 4 pm till over.  Large number of shooters and even new shooters have been showing.  Shooting will continue  thru the month of September and if weather holds out possibly into October.

  • High Power (Iron Sites) - Every Wed. at 4 pm.  More shooters wanted.  If your into service rifles come join the fun.

  • SAFETY - Two new first aid kits were purchased for club use.

  • SKOOT - N - SHOOT - Call Mr. Earl Wilkinson if you are interested.  It will be held on September 21st. Milford Gun Club, sign up at 9 am.  The route will be: Milford, Sprout Brook, Burlington Flats (12:30 - 12:45?), Hartwick, then back to Milford for the hog roast.  At each club the riders will shoot trap.  Hog Roast / Chicken BBQ cost $20 poker Run, $30 couple and $30 to shoot.  Head count at this time has 50 signed up already.  We need some one to run the trap and keep score.  We need signs put up. Need volunteers to cook, set up etc. Last year 22 shoots, we had 5lbs. of hot dogs and 60 hambergers.  Earl will be here by 10 am till done.

  • Club Improvement - by Mr. Eric Meyer, Club House Floor resurface.  Cost:  From old Anderson Hardware in Richfield Springs - $45 Sander, $24 Edger, $20 Deposit + cost of the sanding belts.  Motioned by Mr. Larry Jeager accepted by all.

  • Club Improvements - Ideas entertained to raise more money to fix the club up.  Repair roof, paint the roof and paint the club house outside.

  • Board Members to schedual a trip to Syracuse to see another clubs improved ventilation System.

  • Club pistol team took 1st place in the league for rim fire and 2nd place for the center fire league.  Pistol will start again on Friday, Oct. 1st, 2010.

  • A new lock was installed in the club vault and new keys will be issued to Dave Kucera, Larry Jaeger, and Colette Dunham.

  • All High Power materials will be moved out of the vault.

  • Club lawn mower will be sent out for repairs.  (By this posting- It has been repaired and returned)

  • All club members will be asked to contact our senators in regards to all the new gun laws the government is trying to pass - note: Christian Gilibrant is now against guns.  The 5 year pistol bill passed the State Assembly and it looks like it will pass the State Senate, everyone needs to call our representatives to stop this ASAP.

  • Jim Mayne presented the Federation notes: The Federation has been hit with huge financial cuts.  The Federation has two scholarships for $50 each available.  Forty four kids will be going to camp.  If anyone knows a child (12-17) that might want to be put on the waiting list in case of a cancellation please contact Larry Jaeger.

  • Our Troop 9 scouts again this year helped stock fish in our local creeks.  They also released 300 trout in Bass Wood. (NICE JOB SCOUTS -THANKS)

  • Morris Fair- Club work day is Thursday, August 5th, 2010 all day.  Volunteers needed.  Raffle tickets ($1) for the fair are available from Jim Mayne ( 90 out of 100 tickets are left).

  • Jordan Johnson will represent the club for camp.

  • Dave Mclean: The car top boat launch is a go for Milford.

  • Region 4 opposed the antler restriction.

  • The hunter safety refresher course for instructors is scheduled for June 14, 2010.

  • There are no dates set as of yet for the hunter safety course - possibly it will be in August.

  • Appleseed Program: Steve Stoner, State wide and locally, Appleseed had an excellent outstanding shoot and the July shoot is almost sold out.  With so few spots left, if anyone is interested they must register ASAP.  Steve wished to give a huge THANK YOU to Fred Emhof, Glen Kohler and Dave Kucera for all their help setting up, cooking and cleaning up.  Due to our high standard of hospitality here at BFFGC, everyone wants to attend our Appleseed Shoots.

  • F-Class / High Power: Fred Emhof, F-Class has a large group of shooters on Monday afternoons (4pm - sun down).  High Power has started slower because less people have service rifles on Wednesday afternoons (4pm - sun down).  Anyone else interested should meet us on the range near the pond, cost this year is $6 for club members and $9 non-members.

  • Trap / Skeet: Heath Dunham and Brian Griffiths, shoots are on Tuesday evenings.  Note: Issue of a new trap house was brought up.  The suggestion to buy birds with another club to receive a bulk discount price was made. This motion was made and accepted.

  • Junior Rifle: Colette Dunham, The Jr. rifle program is even a greater success this year, with 37 kids registered.  The kids are learning and having a great time.  I would like to thank John and Steve for all there help.  We will be placing orders for Jr. Rifle apparel if anyone is interested in supporting the program by purchasing a supporter apparell - T shirt, sweat shirt, sweat pants, hat, visor or sinch sack.  Ad for Jr. Rifle should be placed in school year book.

  • Club repairs were tabled until the next meeting.  Please look at the list on our web site.  Please E-mail any suggestions to Eric at emeyer@bffgc.com .

  • Club Clean Up Day to be set in near future.

  • Safety: Brian Ward dropped off two extinguishers for the club at a cost of $50 - Brian donated one extinguishers (THANKS BRIAN).

  • Security System: The Dennis Mayne Family has donated a new video security system to the club. (THANKS DENNIS AND FAMILY)

  • Security: New combination door lock issue tabled till next meeting.

  • Safety: New range safety rules now listed on line.

  • Board of directors to prioritize list of club repairs.

  • $ Grants are available for range.

  • Raffle:  1546 tickets sold out of 2000.  Winners are: Dennis Mayne (Savage 243), Sharon Shoemaker (7mm 08), Earl Wilkinson (25-06), Bob Rothwell (Chair), Carter Kranhert (knife) and Missy Korn (knife).

  • Chiappa donated conversion parts to make one of the clubs rifles into a 22cal. (THANKS CHIAPPA)

  • Meeting brought to order with 18 members present.

  • Club Treasure's Report (Mr. Larry Jeager):  Report read and accepted by all.

  • Secretary Report (Mrs. Colette Dunham):  Report read and accepted by all.

  • Spring Fling was a great success - 48 chicken halves left and will be used for the Appleseed Shoot.

  • Appleseed Shoot will be held on April 17 and 18th. (Was a great success)

  • Federation report given be Mr. Jim Mayne

  • Council - Mr. Dave McClean, asked all club members, family and friends to write their congressmen about up coming gun bills.  They are trying to pass a law that no one can poses magazines that hold more than 10 rounds (other than law enforcement) or unless it was manufactured before 1984.

  • Mr. Dave McClean will contact Mr. Harold Palmer to find out what can be done about this law.

  • Trapper Training - 19 students trained  (Was a great success)

  • Hunter Education - 17 students trained  (Was a great success)

  • Boy Scouts - Fish Stocking:  Monday 19th - Wharton Creek / Butternut and Tuesday 27th - Bass Wood

  • Starting Soon:   Junior Rifle - April 27th Registration at 5pm Shooting every Tuesday between 6-8pm

  • 2nd Annual Cpl. Michael Mayne Youth Turkey Shoot Weekend and Raffle.

  • Club safety issues brought up.  NO FIRING BEYOND THE 50FT LINE on our indoor range.  This will be posted on the internet.  It was brought up that there may be a need to explain JACKETED AMMO.  (Note: No Jacketed Ammo on the indoor range)

  • Idea of locking the club house was brought up.

  • Future projects need to be prioritized.

  • Junior Rifle - Zero Gravity Ministries Shoot Day - May 3rd at 2-5pm
